The City of North Canton's Spring Yard Waste Recycling Program will begin April 17th and run through may 25th, 2012. Bags may be purchased at local retailers. Please put yard waste paper bags at the curbside on your regular trash day. Note: If yard waste is in plastic bags it will go to the landfill with your regular trash. THERE WILL BE NO FREE PAPER BAG HAND OUT.
2012 Season Dogwood Swimming Pool Passes on sale May 14, 2012 and Opens May 26, 2012.
The 2012 Dogwood Swimming Pool passes go on sale May 14, 2012. They can be purchased by going to North Canton City Hall located at 145 North Main St, North Canton during normal business hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Please Note: The Dogwood Pool will be open: May 26th, 27th and May 28th. Closed May 29th, 30th, 31st and June 1, 2012. The North Canton Civic Center will be the scene of a series of five monthly arts programs beginning in February and concluding in June 2012, supervised through the agency of The Canton Museum of Art. Three Areas of Concern and their Updates: Zimber Ditch - This is a regional issue with the majority of the Zimber Ditch and the associated drainage area falling outside of the City of North Canton; hence, we are working with the other affected communities. - The County Engineer’s Office has taken the lead in this effort and we have been involved in several discussions. A study is currently being conducted regarding water runoff from the Fairways Golf Course to include a look at the storm sewers in the area. The City has hired a firm that specialized in this type of work.
The City is waiting for the Army Corps of Engineers for their input and advice. The City has also been contacting those entities along the Zimber Ditch in order to set up a multi-jurisdictional task force regarding flooding issues.
