Facilities to Rent
The City of North Canton offers three rental facilities, one being the North Canton Civic Center, another being Dogwood Park Shelter, and the other being Price Park Shelter.
Price Park
Price Park is located at 1000 W. Maple Street and is the City’s most active park, comprising 18.5 acres. This park has much to offer to the public, including the fishing (catch and release) and duck pond, gazebo, three covered shelters, a large playground, a one mile walking path, one baseball field, two tennis court, one basketball court, one sand volleyball court, and restroom facilities, as well as picturesque green space. Immediately across the street is the Civic Center.
On April 7, 2008 the City of North Canton passed Ordinance No. 21-08 establishing a rental rate of Forty Dollars ($40.00) and the policies for reservation of a picnic shelter. This rental fee will be nonrefundable. Nonprofit organizations, with proof of nonprofit status, will not be charged the rental fee, but must still reserve the picnic shelter.
The public is welcome to use all park facilities including the shelters; however, if a shelter is previously rented, those individuals with a rental permit take precedent for use of the shelter at their designated date and time.
Civic Center
The North Canton Civic Center is located adjacent to Price Park on West Maple at 845 W. Maple Street. The North Canton Civic Center is the former residence of Walter Mack and was purchased by the City in 1970. The grounds cover approximately 6 acres and feature mature Beechnut, Oak, and Maple trees with a beautiful gazebo to accent the landscape and architecture of the facility.
The North Canton Civic Center is open for rentals and boasts the Events Hall which can seat up to 230 persons, with the availability of a hide-away movie screen and a sound system with a cordless microphone. In addition, there is also a serving hall. Rental of the Events Hall also includes use of the Civic Center Gazebo. Renters may also use the caterer of choice.
The North Canton Civic Center is the perfect place to host any event such as wedding showers, wedding receptions, weddings, business meetings, holiday parties, or many other special events throughout the year.
The entire Civic Center is a non-smoking facility.
Also available is wireless internet service for business functions.
Civic Center Gazebo
The Civic Center Gazebo is located at 845 W. Maple Street. The Gazebo is available for weddings with rental of the Events Hall.
Dogwood Park Shelter
Dogwood Park Shelter is located at 241 – 7th Street NE. The shelter can be rented by the half, or the whole. Each side of the shelter can accommodate approximately 80 people. The special features at the Dogwood Shelter are air conditioning, kitchenette, and indoor restrooms. There is also a large outdoor grill for use by the renters.
